Every Friday I round up the biggest gaming stories of the week. Here is what mattered.
1. Xbox's "Continuing Our Reset" shakes everything up
This is the big one. Activision gets Halo, Rare, and World's Edge, with a new dedicated team building the next Halo away from Call of Duty. Obsidian joins Bethesda for a new Fallout project. And Playground plus Turn 10 merge into one Forza and Fable studio.
That is a massive reshuffle. The question everyone is asking: is Activision making the next Halo a W or an L? And what do you want from Halo's next chapter?
2. Sony brings AI upscaling to the base PS5
QSSR is here, built with AMD. It brings AI upscaling to the standard PS5, not just the Pro. First games getting patched: Marvel's Wolverine and Ghost of Yotei, both updated October 1.
Free visual upgrades are always a win. If you own either game, make sure you are patched.
3. The Steam Autumn Sale is live
October 1 through 8, with about 2,100 games under five bucks. The steal of the week: Space Marine 2 for $19.99. If your backlog was not long enough already, it is about to get longer.
4. GeForce NOW adds 25 games in October
Headlined by Gears of War: E-Day and The Witcher 3 Remastered. Cloud gaming keeps quietly getting better.
5. Aion 2 launches worldwide October 5
PC launch with serious Steam momentum building. MMO fans, this is the one to watch.

The Xbox shake-up is the story of the week and probably the story of the month. I will be watching how the new Halo team takes shape. Drop your take in the comments and do not forget to follow for more.
